Happy Birthday Daddy!

Although daddy didn't want to know about his birthday, we managed to remind him of it. Mommy cooked a delicious Chinese dinner and invited Nana and Opa to come over. Not much of a celebration, but we did have very full tummy!

Church Christmas dinner 2009

Last night we had Church Christmas dinner. We invited Hyewon and family. As usual, four kids went crazy as soon as they saw each other. I barely filled my tummy when I had to leave the table to mind the kids. Even though I missed out the Christmas carols and the message, I had a great evening!

Day care Christmas concert 2009

The day care centre had Christmas concert last Friday at 6pm. Isabel was supposed to be in the middle of the front row, but she was upset at that moment and the teacher put her in front of Isaac. She was happier to be closer to her big brother.

Isaac sang really well and enjoyed himself a lot. On the other hand, Isabel was only busy posing for my camera. Isaac also had his "graduation" at the end of the concert. When the concert ended, everyone enjoyed sausage sizzle!

Dancing with Annabel

Last Wednesday we invited Annabel to Isabel's dancing class - the last two lessons this term are "open classes" that anyone is welcome to join and try.

Annabel has always loved dancing. So she was super excited about coming to the class since the previous day when Hyewon told her about it. She dressed like a professional too in her very cute princess gear. The two girls danced very well. Isabel was keen to show Annabel all the moves, and Annabel was keen to prove she could do everything. It was so funny to watch them.

While girls were enjoying dancing, the two boys were busy outside the studio looking for ladybugs and beetles.

Water babies

I finally got a few photos of Isaac and Isabel taking the swimming lesson, as well as a photo of them with their best friends Lucas, Annabel and Hyewon. They just love being in the pool. Every time after the swimming lesson, we let them swim for another hour. When we told them it's time to go home, the chase started... They would come to the edge of the pool and tell us "come and get me!" As soon as we almost got them, they ran away to the middle of the pool. When we finally got them, they would cry and whinge and try to jump into the pool again. Some yummy biscuits would usually calm them down. :) It's great to see them enjoy the water. Soon they will be able to teach me how to swim!

Isaac's school orientation

Today is Isaac's first school orientation. We were running late as usual and were the last to enter the classroom. Isaac was excited and very happy until right before we walked into the classroom that I told him I had to wait for him in another building and would pick him up later. He immediately got upset and started whipping. So I asked him, "Look around, who else is crying?" Isabel was super quick to answer "Nobody!!" Haha she made me laugh. Then we saw Monira and Alan already sitting at the table drawing. They both looked very happy. So I put Isaac at the same table. Knowing several other kids had helped Isaac to settle down. I quickly took a few shots and was "kicked out" by the teacher. Yeah I was the last parent to leave the classroom.

Isabel and I spent the next next and a half in the school hall mingling with other parents and little kids. It's good that I know at least seven other moms from mother's group or play group over the last few years. We chatted and chatted and followed the school captain for a tour around the school. It's a small school which is the size I prefer. Mark and I have been to the parents orientation two weeks ago and we both had really good impression. So I hope Isaac will like it.

Isaac was very happy when I picked him up. I met his year six buddy John who is a lovely blonde boy. Isaac told me he had a good time and he liked school. And he promised me he wouldn't cry next time.

Now I will just to organise his uniform, shoes, bag, socks, and so on.

Kids talk - baby & married...

I was at the Aldi checkout this afternoon with Isabel. She saw a baby in a pram in front of us and went over to say hi to the baby. Baby got so excited and reached out wanting to touch Isabel's hand. Isabel giggled and ran back to me and asked me with such sweet voice, "Mommy can you buy me a baby?" &^$&@*!!! I laughed and said "We can't buy baby darling." Then she said, "Mommy can you buy me a puppy?" To her, babies must be like puppies.

Isabel is a typical girl. Nowadays she likes to put a white blanket or bath towel over her head, put my high heels on, walk around and proudly announce "Mommy I am married!!" Now I do believe some women have started planning their weddings since they were five!
